On-Site vs. Depot Repair for Sakura Equipment

We offer two service options depending on your location and the complexity of the repair. Both include full post-repair testing and a detailed service report.

On-Site Repair

For labs in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, and California, we send a technician directly to your facility. On-site service is faster, eliminates shipping risk, and is the only practical option for large instruments like tissue processors that are difficult or expensive to ship. In most cases we can have a technician on-site same day or next day.

Nationwide Depot Repair

Outside our on-site coverage area? Ship your Sakura instrument to our service center and we’ll repair and return it. Freight charges apply. For labs that can’t afford extended downtime, rental units are available during the repair period — and service contract customers receive free loaners.

Need help deciding? Compare on-site vs. depot repair or contact us and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Preventive Maintenance for Sakura Tissue-Tek Equipment

Our Sakura PM visits include:

  • Full mechanical and electrical inspection
  • Reagent system flush and valve check on processors
  • Vacuum pump performance test
  • Temperature calibration and verification
  • Lubrication of all moving components
  • Software and firmware review where applicable
  • Detailed service report for compliance and audit records

We offer flexible PM scheduling on monthly, quarterly, or annual cycles. Multi-year contracts are available at a discount. Learn more on our histology equipment preventive maintenance page.

Sakura Tissue-Tek Repair FAQs

How fast can you respond to a Sakura Tissue-Tek breakdown?

For labs in our on-site service states, same-day or next-day response is available depending on technician availability and your location. Service contract customers receive guaranteed on-site response within 24 hours.

Do you carry parts for older Sakura models like the VIP 2000 or VIP 3000?

Yes. We stock components for both current and legacy Sakura Tissue-Tek models. Contact us with your model and serial number and we can confirm parts availability before scheduling service.

Can you service our Sakura equipment if we’re not in your coverage area?

Yes — our nationwide depot repair service covers labs anywhere in the United States. You ship the unit to us, we repair and test it, and return it. Freight charges apply and we can provide shipping guidance to make sure your instrument arrives safely.

Can you service multiple Sakura instruments in one visit?

Absolutely. Bundling service visits across multiple instruments saves time and reduces overall service costs. Many labs combine tissue processor, embedding center, and stainer service into a single technician visit.

Do you offer loaners while our Sakura unit is being repaired?

Yes. We keep rental and loaner histology equipment available to minimize lab downtime during longer repairs. Service contract customers receive free loaners. Contact us to check current availability.
